Black-framed aluminium glazed partition with reeded glass between a kitchen and living room

Aluminium Crittall-style internal doors and screens

The Crittall-style look in aluminium: gridded internal doors and glazed screens for broken-plan homes, home offices and bathrooms.

01Aluminium doors

The Crittall-style look, in aluminium

Aluminium Crittall-style internal doors and screens have slim frames and a grid of glazing bars, giving the industrial look from across the room. Aluminium does not rust, so they also suit bathrooms and shower screens.

01

Glazed partitions

Fixed screens for broken-plan kitchens and home offices: smells and noise stay in one zone, daylight runs front to back.

02

Single, double and pivot doors

Hinged and pivot doors in the gridded Crittall-style geometry, with leaves light enough to swing easily.

03

Bathroom and shower screens

Aluminium carries a passive oxide layer and does not rust, so a gridded screen copes with steam and splashes.

04

Glass choices

Clear for open sightlines, frosted for privacy, reeded to blur the desk, smoked grey or bronze for a moodier room.

03Asked before every survey

The questions that matter.

Will people see it is aluminium?
Rarely from across the room. Up close the corners give it away: mitred and screwed, each shows a crisp joint line, and the bars sit on a single sheet of glass. Knock on the leaf and it sounds lighter than you might expect.
Can I use them for a bathroom or shower?
Yes, this is where aluminium is the better choice: it does not rust, so steam and splashes do not lift the finish. One caution: a screen closing off a cold porch or corridor can gather condensation on an uninsulated frame, so we check at survey.
Will a glazed screen make my home office quiet?
Quieter, not silent. A single 6 mm pane cuts about 32 to 35 dB, so a loud conversation next door is still understood; 12.8 mm laminated glass reaches about 38 dB. Sound also escapes under the door, and a drop-down seal closes that gap.
Are these doors fire-rated?
No. Aluminium look-alike systems carry no fire classification, so they cannot go where building control asks for a fire door, for example on a loft conversion escape route. If your opening needs one, tell us when you enquire and we advise on the right product.
What does my wall need before installation?
Solid fixings. A heavy pivot leaf rips plasterboard fixings out, so the wall needs full-height timber noggins at first fix. In loft conversions a deflection head lets the structure move without jamming the door or cracking the glass. We agree it with your builder first.
