Black steel-look aluminium double doors with glazing bars set in a yellow brick opening

Heritage style aluminium doors

Steel-look aluminium doors with slim frames and glazing bars, for period homes, 1930s houses and Conservation Areas where a chunky modern frame looks wrong.

01Aluminium doors

Heritage style, in aluminium

Heritage style aluminium doors are a steel-look take on early 20th-century metal doors, with slim frames and glazing bars. They suit interwar and modernist houses with original metal windows, and period homes in Conservation Areas.

01

Single doors

A single glazed leaf for side returns, garden studios and secondary entrances, secured like the rest of the house.

02

French pairs

Two glazed leaves with a grid of glazing bars, the classic garden opening at the back of a period house.

03

Glazing bars

Slim bars that split the glass into small period panes, set at survey to your elevation and existing windows.

04Asked before every survey

The questions that matter.

Will a conservation officer approve heritage-style aluminium doors?
Not automatically, and the word heritage is not consent. In a Conservation Area under an Article 4 Direction, replacing doors usually needs planning permission, and officers tend to refuse uPVC and chunky frames. Slim sightlines and correct glazing bars give your application its best chance.
How are heritage-style doors different from standard aluminium doors?
They are slimmer and flatter, and they carry glazing bars. Standard aluminium doors use deeper, plainer profiles that read as modern, which is right for an extension and wrong on a 1930s elevation. Both are supplied and fitted by our own team.
Who do I contact if there is a problem after fitting?
One company answers for the whole job. The team that surveyed the opening also supplied and fitted the doors, so one call reaches the people who did the work.
