What are VELFAC doors?
VELFAC doors are wood-aluminium doors: the aluminium outside carries the glass, and FSC pine stays dry behind the seal. Large triple-glazed sliding doors weigh hundreds of kilograms, so we plan the support and lifting.

The questions that matter.
Are VELFAC doors built like VELFAC windows?
Yes, the construction is shared. Doors come as hinged casement doors and as sliding casement doors, and the V200 drawings cover both in detail. The windows page explains the structure at length.
How are heavy triple-glazed VELFAC sliding doors installed?
With a plan. Glass is the largest share of the weight, so without a crane the glass-bonded aluminium sash often comes off the timber frame first. An untrained crew can damage the guides, and the sash then drops for good. We plan lifting and sequence.
When can VELFAC doors go into a new build?
Only once the building is watertight. Moisture from drying plaster and screed warps pine frames and can invalidate the manufacturer's warranty. Pallets should stand on flat ground and not wait long on site before the fitting date.
Can I mix VELFAC doors with another make of window?
You can, and it usually shows. A VELFAC door at the back beside aluminium windows of another make means different depths and proportions on one elevation, and the junctions look off from the garden. Keeping doors and windows in one system keeps the sightlines aligned.
